The Trade Ministry is to establish a directorate general for consumer protection and standardization in a bid to enhance its efforts to protect consumers from faulty and non-standardized products. The ministry director for supervision of circulating goods and services Inayat Iman said the 10 categories of products included food and beverages, electronics, garments, footwear and children’s toys. “The other five categories of products are packaged mineral water, regulators of [liquefied petroleum] gas cylinders, safety shoes, tires and helmets,” he said. The first five products have to undergo a pre-shipment inspection before entering the domestic market via five designated seaports, as well as international airports, according to a 2008 ministry regulation.
The five seaports are Belawan Port in Medan, Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang, Central Java, Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, and Soekarno-Hatta Port in Makassar, South Sulawesi. For imports of food and beverage products, the Dumai Port in Riau is also available. Imports of these designated products through any other ports will be declared illegal. Inayat said importers may face a maximum of five years in prison or Rp 2 billion (US$214,000) in fines if found guilty of violating the 1999 Law on consumer protection and causing harm to consumers.

Garuda international flights will get avtur from Pertamina

State oil and gas producer PT Pertamina has agreed to provide aviation fuel (avtur) for national flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia’s airplanes flying to five foreign destinations including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Dubai. Garuda plans to add 15 new routes by 2012, five of them being to European countries. “This year, we will add 10 more new routes both domestic and international,” Garuda spokesman Pudjobroto said. Some of the new domestic destinations include Ternate, Palu, Ambon and Bengkulu, while the international destinations include Amsterdam via Dubai, Taipei in Taiwan and Brisbane, Australia.
“We will fly to Taipei in April, while Amsterdam via Dubai and Brisbane will start in June and October respectively,” Pudjobroto said. Garuda also plans to fly to four European cities; Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome beginning in 2011 or 2012. Garuda, which serves 58 domestic and international routes, operates Boeing 747-400, 737-800, 737-300 and 737-500 airliners as well as Airbus 330-300 and 330-200 jets. The airline expects to increase its fleet to 116 aircraft within the next five years from 67 at present.

Banyak orang berpikir, tinggal di daerah terpencil di lereng pegunungan dengan akses transportasi dan komunikasi yang terbatas mengurangi kreativitas dan mendorong perilaku berpikir yang statis. Namun, hal itu tidak berlaku bagi Sulastri, perempuan dari Pegunungan Wilis di lereng Desa Joho, Kecamatan Semen, Kabupaten Kediri, Jawa Timur. Dia berhasil mengubah kehidupan masyarakat di daerahnya, terbukti dari hasil pendataan Badan Pusat Statistik yang isinya mengenai jumlah rumah tangga miskin yang berhak menerima beras miskin tahun 2010. Yang awalnya sebanyak 600 keluarga menjadi 507 keluarga. Awalnya dia mendirikan Paguyuban Perempuan Sido hanya berbekal niat dan semangat, Kemudian pindah ke ide pembuatan kripik di dasari murahnya harga hasil bumi, Mendirikan koperasi simpan pinjam, Lalu ternak dengan modal awal dua kotak sarang lebah, dll. Sulastri berjanji akan mengawal pendidikan di desanya agar generasi muda yang lahir menjadi manusia yang lebih unggul dan andal, tidak hanya sekadar menjadi TKI. Dia seperti memberikan pencerahan bahwa bicara saja tidak cukup. Bukti dengan kerja keras lebih di butuhkan negeri ini.
Terkadang jika hanya bicara saja tanpa ada bukti pelaksanaannya maka tetap saja tiddak ada yang akan berubh sama sekali.

Lindungi Anak dari Zat Adiktif

Jutaan anak-anak di negeri ini sedang menunggu dengan harap-harap cemas. Akankah Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono akhirnya menandatangi rancangan peraturan pemerintah tentang pengamanan zat adiktif bagi kesehatan yang saat ini masih bermukim di kementerian hukm dan hak asasi manusia. Dalam RPP, Pasal 10 dengan tegas menyatakan bahwa “tembakau dan semua produk tembakau sebagai zat adiktif dilarang untuk diiklankan dan atau dipromosikan di semua jenis media yang meliputi media luar ruang, media elektronik, media online, media cetak, media lainnya dan ditempat penjualan. Dan dalam Pasal 11 juga dinyatakan bahwa setiap orang yang memproduksi dan atau mengimpor produk tembakau ke wilayah Indonesia dilarang untuk menawarkan yang bertujuan untuk mempromosikan produk tembakau kepada masyarakat.
Negara-negara bermartabat di berbagai penjuru dunia telah banyak yang melarang iklan rokok di media penyiaran sejak lama. Negara tetangga kita, Malaysia, telah melarang iklan rokok di televisi sejak tahun1982 dan Brunei sejak tahun 1972. Di Asia Tenggara hanya tinggal Indonesia dan Kamboja yang masih mengizinkan siaran iklan rokok di televisi. Menurut Undang-Undang Kesehatan Nomor 36 Tahun 2009, rokok sebagai produk yang mengandung tembakau, secara yuridis formal telah diakui sebagai zat adiktif yang penggunaannya dapat menimbulkan kerugian bagi dirinya dan masyarakat (Pasal 113 Ayat 2) dan oleh karenanya perlu pengaturan yang ketat sama seperti zat adiktif lainnya, seperti alkohol dan narkoba.
Sebaiknya pemerintah harus menindak lanjutkan tentang masalah rokok ini. Sebab rokok bukan produk yang baik dikonsumsi oleh tubuh manusia. Karena rokok mengandung zat adiktif yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit kanker dan lain sebagainya.

Duha Prayer Blessings

1. Heart becomes calm.
2. The mind becomes more concentrated.
3. Awake physical health.
4. Given the ease in all matters.
5. Getting sustenance unexpected.
Not only that, but the book also tells how to pray Duha prayer and afterwards.
Let's not waste if Duha prayer blessing so great. But after knowing the blessings of the Duha prayer, to execute it so difficult.

SOEs and the People's Control Functions

Government and Parliament need to pay attention because of indications of agency problems in SOEs. Conflicts of interest between the management agent and the owner (agency problem) is the main problem corporate governance. In developed countries like the U.S. is also still a serious concern, for example the case of Goldman Sachs. This incident shows continue to put forward management what they thought was right without regard to the condition of the company. (Agency problems between management and the government is whether the actions of management in managing SOEs in line with the interests of the government as a shareholder of SOEs). This problem can be minimized relative, given the government a majority control of state-owned shares.
SOE has a great economic potential and to the very sectors that have a strategic role in the development process and improving people's welfare. Of course the public is also aware of SOEs has a function as public servants and help the government carry out development programs. However, this inefficiency should not be the shadow state. (The availability of information on SOE performance will encourage the formation of corporate governance both as a necessary condition of formation of an efficient state-owned and have a good quality service).
Government should continue to monitor the performance of SOEs, so that will not harm society. For example in the case of Goldman Sachs, the division of a major bonus in the company accepting government bailouts.
